Ingredients (Serves 2–3)
- 2 thick-cut sirloin steaks
- 2 tbsp Banhoek Chilli Oil (Original)
- 1 tbsp BBQ Blondie Worcestershire Spice
- 1 tsp Black Mamba Chilli Rub (or Habanero sauce for extra heat)
- Sea salt & cracked black pepper
- Fresh thyme (optional)
Method
- Prep the Steak – Rub both sides of the sirloin with Banhoek Chilli Oil. Sprinkle over BBQ Blondie Worcestershire Spice and a touch of Black Mamba Chilli Rub. Season generously with salt and pepper.
- Rest & Marinate – Let the steaks rest at room temperature for 20–30 minutes so the spices infuse deeply.
- Sear & Flame – Get your braai hot. Place the steaks directly over high heat, searing for 2–3 minutes per side to lock in flavour.
- Finish Cooking – Move to medium heat and cook to your preferred doneness (medium rare: ±54°C internal). Brush lightly with more Banhoek Chilli Oil before removing.
- Rest & Serve – Let the steaks rest for 5 minutes. Slice against the grain, top with fresh thyme, and serve hot.
Result: Juicy, flame-seared sirloin with smoky, tangy, spicy layers that’ll have your guests begging for seconds.
